Engagement

Engagement

A delivery model designed for your auditor as much as your CTO.

Every engagement is structured in named phases with named owners. Every phase has a written outcome and a clean exit. Below is how a typical engagement runs — adapted to the brief, never improvised.

Phase 00

Discovery

60-minute call. Scope plus budget shape. No charge. We learn what you are trying to do and tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.

Typical · 1 week
Phase 01

Diagnostic

Fixed-fee assessment with a written point of view and a costed roadmap. A real working artefact — not a sales document dressed as analysis.

Typical · 2–4 weeks
Phase 02

Design

Framework, reference architecture, or programme design — sequenced for delivery, costed in detail, and signed off before any build begins.

Typical · 4–8 weeks
Phase 03

Build / Deliver

Senior team alongside yours. Iterative delivery. Clean documentation as you go — not a rush-job at the end. Status visible weekly.

Typical · 3–12 months
Phase 04

Operate / Handover

Runbooks, metrics, training. Clean exit by design — the goal is your team running the thing without us. We will come back if you want; we will not engineer dependency to keep ourselves in.

Typical · Defined
What a brief looks like

Four engagement shapes.

Most briefs land in one of four shapes. We do not insist on these — the engagement is built around your outcome — but they describe what most of our work looks like.

Shape 01

Advisory retainer

Ongoing senior advisory for an institution navigating live AI policy or programme questions. Standing access to the founder; defined response times; quarterly review.

  • Typically · 6–12 month term
  • Senior advisory access
  • Quarterly written reviews
Shape 02

Capacity-building programme

End-to-end programme design and delivery — curriculum, sessions, materials, evaluation. Designed for parliaments, ministries, and international-org partners.

  • Typically · 3–9 months
  • Curriculum + delivery + evaluation
  • Train-the-trainer optional
Shape 03

Architecture / diagnostic

Fixed-fee architecture review, technical due diligence, or AI readiness diagnostic. Written PoV plus a costed roadmap delivered to your team and decision-makers.

  • Typically · 2–6 weeks
  • Fixed fee · written PoV
  • Costed remediation roadmap
Shape 04

AI integration / delivery

Senior team alongside your engineers, delivering a defined AI integration into production. Built to your operating standard, handed over working.

  • Typically · 3–12 months
  • Senior delivery team
  • Working handover · documented
Pricing posture

How we price.

Discovery (Phase 00) is free. We do not charge institutions to find out whether we are useful to them.

Diagnostics (Phase 01) and design work (Phase 02) are fixed-fee. You know the cost before you commit, and we carry the risk of scope drift inside the phase.

Build and operate work (Phases 03–04) is scoped on outcomes wherever possible — what we will move, by when, for what. Day-rate work is available where the brief genuinely demands it; we do not pretend it is something else.

We publish indicative pricing bands with the diagnostic. If the budget conversation needs to happen earlier — which it often does with international-org work — say so and we will be straightforward about it.

Have a problem you can’t put on a slide? Brief us in plain English.

Most of our work starts as a phone call from someone tired of glossy proposals. We will listen first.
